I commented on this very thing in my "Connecting the Dots" thread. I seriously believe that compounds or some such are not too far off.

One thing's for sure... it's nice to actually be able to debate subjects like this... which you sure as hell can't do in Faithy Discreety McSlaveypants Land...

Maybe, but... what's so dangerous about pointing out possible holes in Darwinian evolutionary framework? Didn't Steven Jay Gould spend his entire life reworking the model because of its deficiencies? If I'm mistaken, please correct me.

Cross quote Mar. 1, 08 WT
by eby inmarch 1, 2008 page 22.why do jehovah's witnesses not use the cross in worship?
"in agreement with this, oxford university's companion bible says: 'the evidence is...that the lord was put to death upon an upright stake, and not on two pieces of timber placed at any angle.
' clearly, the churches have adopted a tradition that is not biblical.

Is the above information non-scholarly in your opinion?

If apostates are just agents of disinformation, surely they can and should be easily refuted, especially if what they say is "dangerous".
So why does the Watchtower not refute these half-truths and lies, especially publically, instead of simply dismissing it with a quick "nothing to see here, move on?"
Does this kind of behavior bolster faith in the organization for those who already have doubts? Or does it simply compound them?

Darwin fundies have their own agenda just like Biblical fundies.

Not bringing God into the classroom is one thing. Not being allowed to question long-cherished scientific theories (dogma?) is quite another. And from what I understand, Stein is absolutely right about this one - questioning the Darwinian model is a big no-no in the scientific community.

Regardless of your personal beliefs, I have to confess to being something of an admirer of Ben Stein. The guy is just smart as hell.
Dawkins may be too, but he's got a serious attitude problem... he seems a very arrogant and hostile individual with a dedicated anti-theistic bent...
